Lo3 Special effects editing screenshots

  This is what the final video timeline looks like. we used effects such as dip to black and white as they offered seamless transitions into the next scene or shot. Furthermore,  We used instant cuts to black which were used to relieve tension and also for dramatic effect. This effect has the ability to build mystery and entertainment for the audience. Here we separated different frames and changed the colour of certain frames In order to present Ellis's character losing control of his emotions. We took this editing technique from generic conventions of other horror films such as Insidious, and The Nun. We did this in post as we did not have the ability to use LED lights on set. However this works just as well and Creates the same effect which is to notify the audience about how his character is becoming unhinged.  This is our examples of us using Premier pro to edit our audio alongside our footage, we used audio transition effects to make the cuts in audio seem seamless....

We used audio transition effects such as constant power and constant gain as a way to transition the sound and music we used in our film. This was used to make the transitions in audio more seamless and enjoyable for the audience. We believe that we have done a good job with transitioning audio and making it work with the scenes. The music and sounds we have chosen are used to link to the themes and conventions shown within the scenes. Things such as whispers and stab sound effects have been implemented to highlight how Ellis's character has become unhinged. Similarly, the stab sound effect and the sad piano music was used to add more dramatic effect to Toby's characters death. We though about Steve Niels (1980) genre theory about repetition and difference when editing to parody, and use similar sound design techniques than products similar to this one.
